For Legislature

In November, 2023, the South Portland City Council voted not to to elect a new representative to the State Legislature when the seat became vacant half-way through the term. I helped lobby to overturn that decision on the grounds that everyone should always be represented in government to the best of their ability, and then ran as an independent candidate in the ensuing special election. Along the way I stood for competent climate and coastal preparedness policies, citizen involvement in government, equality, and public transportation (among many other things!). I maintain that running for office is the most efficient way to get the attention of decision-makers, and that getting directly involved is the most efficient way of getting things done.
Willard Beach Dune Replanting

In December of 2022 I helped organize groups of volunteers to replant sections of dune vegetation that had washed away in a storm, and also helped document these efforts for the city’s Willard Beach Master Planning Committee.
Bagheera Committee

In the summer of 2021 I was a founding member of the Bagheera Committee, a group of professional deckhands involved in coordinating and communicating ideas about cultural and workplace environment between sailors and company leadership.
URI Student Senate, Incorporated

I was elected to the Student Senate for three terms during my Freshman, Sophomore, and Junior years of college, eventually stepping up to be Vice President when the sitting Vice President resigned. Before that I worked to represent various constituencies of students on social issues and programming decisions, and spent a little time as the chair of the Rules and Ethics Committee.
